You will find the community of Whispering Pines sits in the middle of the fine Tri-area that consists of Payson, Pine/Strawberry, and Christoper Creek. Payson lies the closest and most accessible area because Houston Mesa road that leads to Whispering Pines is paved all the way to Oak Lane. However you are able to follow the control road 64 either west or east to these other hot spots that lie about 10-15 miles apart from Whispering Pines.
- *Payson Rim Country Chamber (Offers a wealth of information about the area. Please check the event calendar there to see what is happening the weekend you plan to visit. Payson has a claim to fame with the Oldest continuous Rodeo)
- Visit the Chamber’s page- 2020 Calendar of Events in Payson
Here is a Trails map from the Chamber showing the general area, with Whispering Pines right in the middle at #8. Which notes the pump station trail that controls the top flow of the East Verde River.
